Monsoon Fire is open to anyone who wants to make ceramics. All visits are by reservation, but anyone can book a day pass and use the full studio. Wheels, pugmills, forms, glazes, hand tools, 3D printers, woodworking tools, electronics tools — it’s all included. I don’t nickel-and-dime for materials or time; if you’re here to make good work, you’re welcome to settle in and use what you need. Storage for works-in-progress is available, and abandoned pieces may be recycled or repurposed so space stays fresh for everyone.
Day passes are a simple flat fee. If you ever feel like you got more value than you paid for, there’s a donation box — but payment isn’t something I want you worrying about when you’re trying to create.
If you’re building a steady practice and want discounted services, dedicated storage, and more breathing room in your workflow, memberships are available. Members get day passes included each month, priority scheduling, discounts on supplies, personal lockers, and access to extra tools not always found in a pottery studio. Kiln firing fees are collected at the end of the month, and you only pay for successfully fired pieces — any failures are gently prorated.
I know stepping into a new studio can feel intimidating. My goal is to make Monsoon Fire a place where you can work without pressure, ask questions without feeling awkward, and lean into your craft with support rather than stress.
